Joshua Peterson
Institute management, facility design, chemistry, process development and scale-up
Joshua Peterson is the Chief Operating Officer at the UNSW RNA Institute. Since its formation in mid-2021, Joshua has led the design of the Institute’s facilities, procurement and hiring, building a consummate and innovative team working in an ISO 9001 certified facility for RNA therapeutics research, development and production. He currently manages all operational aspects of the Institute and enjoys developing and implementing technology-based systems improving efficiency and compliance and reducing workloads.
Joshua has extensive background in industry, working for several years in the biotech industry in the USA, with primary expertise in downstream process development, scale-up and tech transfer to large scale GMP manufacturing facilities. After completing his PhD in chemistry/bionanotechnology in 2009, Joshua has worked in academia in a variety of post-doctoral research and management positions prior to joining the Institute.
There was a time (pre-kids) when international travel to exotic destinations was his preferred hobby, but now he tries to squeeze in the odd round of golf and hopes that the weather cooperates.
